Moving on is the hardest of all

Both Tour Divide records fell in the same week.

Then:

Victor Bosoni, 24, rode Banff to Antelope Wells in 11 days 8 hours. That’s more than a full day off the old record, on a rigid bike, averaging around 235 miles a day.

Meaghan Hackinen won the women’s race in 14d 10h 02m and finished 8th overall — 37 hours faster than her own 2024 mark, and inside the outright women’s record too.

Elsewhere: the Transcontinental ran north to south for the first time, Trondheim to Kalamata, and 42% of the 422 starters scratched. The Silk Road went to 2,052km, its longest route yet. Atlas got so much snow the intended route was never actually ridden.

On the gear side, 32-inch wheels stopped being a curiosity — Salsa, Twin Six and Nordest all shipped one. Apidura rebuilt Expedition from the ground up for the first time since 2016.

Closer to home: Deccan Cliffhanger is 28 November, Pune to Goa. Tour of Nilgiris runs 6–12 December.

Eat more than you think you need. Sleep less and don’t panic that’s normal. Ride mornings, chill by afternoon (mountains get windy, it’s not you). Pack a dry layer, nothing dries up there. Loaded bike feels weird downhill at first — you’ll get it. Mornings hit way colder than the number says. And your strongest days? Never the ones you expect.

None of this is meant to scare you. Every rider who’s done this has been through all seven and every single one of them finished.

Just got back back from experiencing 2months on the road from Goa-Himachal-Ladakh-Goa
I wasn't sure if I would be able to camp and be remote from touristy spots but to my surprise I stayed in Jimny, camped most days, ate food that I cooked.

I personally enjoy travelling like this - even with convenience I continue to pursue my love for slowness and connection in the mountains. Met people in remote villages trying to hold on with their culture, roots and some making shifts to cities.
I observed to much of power & privilege situations and how we share this world to add there.
Anyway with whatever been going through this country I still feel hopeful and I hope to find people I connect with through outdoors.
